Greetings and a warm welcome to all my new subscribers!
It's day 734 of the Russian invasion of Ukraine and day 144 of the Israel-Hamas war. Without delving into politics, I wanted to revisit two of my posts about war and bring you a new 50-word prose poem.
The first revisit is a prose poem I wrote last May. War Zone tells the story of a courageous female soldier fighting on Ukraine's battlefields.

She walks through the ruins of what was once a thriving city, her boots crunching on broken glass and rubble. The tiny pieces of broken glass shine like gemstones among the rough. Her helmet sits heavy on her head, but she doesn't mind. It's the only thing that makes her feel safe in this land being worn down, destroyed.
