Wow, this is really beautiful! I pretty much stick to long-form narrative writing and rarely write poetry. So I was wondering, when you write a poem like this, does it just flow out of you? Or does it go through a lot of revisions before it's done? Or is it different each time?
Thanks, Jim. It's different each time. This one flowed out. I read Mark’s post this morning, which made me begin writing. It's not always like that. Sometimes my ideas are only half-formed, so I must set the poem aside for a while. Again, sometimes it just flows upon revision, and I am satisfied. Other times the muse is lacking. 😏 Those poems rarely come back to life.
hi - it's Mark Kolke; I'm so glad to know the my post today 'Turndown service or rejection' [https://markmusing.substack.com/p/turndown-service-or-rejection ] inspired you today as it did; for my readers and yours who might want to konw, the quote was: We choose our joys and sorrows long before we experience them. - Khalil Gibran

Brings to mind the movie, Sliding Doors. Life is all sliding doors.
