This is a powerful story. I enjoyed that it had a mostly positive tone, as opposed to hinting at potential dread. The older I get and the more screwed up the world gets, the more I'm finding myself drawn to this kind of hopeful vision.

I loved this story. Don’t want to say too much more, but the experiences of the main character had particular resonance for me. An uplifting tale to light up dark times

It would be easy - as a non-believer in any religion, to dismiss this. It would be easy, as a movie fan, to say "You must have seen Albert Brooks' film Defending Your Life", and it would also be easy to say nice words like the other comments I've read. But I want to say more, more beyond 'this is a beautiful piece of writing that would be of comfort to those who believe in after life' - and your notes indicate you wrote this as comfort for a friend.

I think, however clear anyone's beliefs are, that as we get older we think about this more - not so much from the viewpoint of 'not wanting to leave life' as much as 'are we ready to embrace the finality of death'. Because, methinks, it causes us to wonder about the value, breadth and depth of our lives, our work, our families and communities - we've been given so much in terms of opportunity and we've done so very little with it.

I'll take your beautiful piece as a message - one I appreciate, and value.

Yes, the universe is a marvelous place beyond our imagination and intellect to grasp; you, on the other hand are a living writer on this planet and I appreciate your words - they are kind and they are beautiful.
