Thanks, Jim! I tend to get bogged down in listening in my head to how the words in a sentence sound together. I’m farther along than I thought I would be, though, so that’s good.
Congratulations on all your fine work this past year, Caro. Caution: writing is addictive. I, personally, don't want to do anything else but write. Thanks so much for the mention here. I am glad you enjoy my work as I do yours.
Thanks again, Sharron. Your caution reminded me of a Susan Sontag quote I read this morning.
“I’m often asked if there is something I think writers ought to do, and recently in an interview I heard myself say: “Several things. Love words, agonize over sentences. And pay attention to the world.”
It’s telling that the part that resonated with me from that quote was “...agonize over sentences.” I love words and I try to pay attention to the world but I will write, rewrite, and rewrite sentences until all the words gel. Yikes!
I am the same way. I love playing with words, reading aloud over and over until the sound and rhythm are just right. Editing is not agonizing for me. It is the fun part.
Thanks very much for the mention Caro but more importantly thanks for all your wonderful writing. Good luck with the novel and everything you write in the year to come 👍🏼
Thank you for the shoutout! And thank you so much for all of your wonderful contributions to the Horror Haiku Club! You are always a welcome addition 😊

It's difficult to do, but eventually you just have to let it go and say FINISHED!
