This was great Caro. Really descriptive, particularly in the contrast between the beauty of the dove and the brutality of the hawk but always showing us that this is the law of nature and will always be

Thank you! The hawks in our neighborhood are pretty busy. One of our neighbors had a hawk drop a wild rabbit on the hood of his car and proceed to eat the entire thing!

Living in the forest surrounded by mountains, I have witnessed hawks make kills many times just as you described. There is brutal beauty to it.

Yes, and not just hawks! The foxes go after the rabbits and squirrels too. At least one coyote was seen around the neighborhood this year.
