Three years in and still going. Look at us. 😄 Here’s to more of it.
They were the winners--the famous people--rich, beautiful, living life without concerns. They moved up the social strata according to their caprices, leaving all weight to the pyramid below. They felt they moved civilization. "Where would everyone be without us?" they boasted--a rhetorical question. They associated with only others like themselves.
So, when the Final Judgment occurred, they were confused to find themselves cordoned.
"We thought You wanted the winners," they complained.
"No," came the answer. "You hear what you want to hear. I said, 'sinners'!"
"You see no difference?" They waited for the answer. They still are.

100-word story challenge. Prompt: "Sinners."
TITLE: Final Reckoning--Culling All Winners.
They were the winners--the famous people--rich, beautiful, living life without concerns. They moved up the social strata according to their caprices, leaving all weight to the pyramid below. They felt they moved civilization. "Where would everyone be without us?" they boasted--a rhetorical question. They associated with only others like themselves.
