This was really well told, Caro as it made me suitably angry and then relieved at Maryam’s plight. The repression of basic human rights, particularly for women, in this day and age is disgraceful. And, it’s equally shameful that our governments still think it’s OK to trade with a lot of these countries. Anyway, told you it makes me angry!

I know women who have fled one lousy situation and landed in another because people keep voting in these oppressive governments that will not cede control once they're in.
